Julie founded Law Office of Julie A. Sherman, PLLC in order to help people who have been injured navigate the legal system. Through her years of litigation experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury actions, she understands that each client has his or her own objectives, which she strives to identify and deliver on by providing personalized advice and solutions. There are many personal injury attorneys in the Greater New York area, and Julie distinguishes herself through this client-focused approach.
Julie earned a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, from Franklin & Marshall College, followed by a Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, from New York Law School. During law school, she was a Harlan Scholar and a member of the New York Law School Law Review. She also served as a law clerk for The Honorable Roger J. Miner, Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
After law school, Julie first worked as an associate at an insurance defense firm. During that time, she gained insight into the insurance industry. While it was a valuable experience, Julie quickly realized that she belonged on the other side, advocating on behalf of the aggrieved. Since 2013, she has represented people who have been injured, often due to the negligence of others. She enjoys getting to know her clients and she finds the work of helping people navigate a sometimes complex legal system very rewarding. She is also able to bring the unique perspective she gained while working for insurance companies to her work.
Julie’s experience includes all aspects of personal injury litigation, including pre-suit, pleadings, motions, written discovery, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and appeals. Julie is able to represent clients in all five boroughs of New York City, in Suffolk, Nassau, Westchester, and Rockland Counties, and throughout the state of New Jersey. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
